Brilliant, alcoholic. Best friend to Nicholas Case, hard booster of Stephanie. He takes time out of a career slide, aggravated by booze, to create the play that will restore them. He has a cynical big mouth and isn't afraid to use it. Highly jealous of his legacy, when his work is changed Tom declares war. SIR AJAX ARKEMIAN Producer. Shrewd, experienced. He sees the market value of the actors’ comebacks. He is leery of dealing with them again, and pays for his profits by enduring their egos. When events turn on them, he has the final word. CHARLES II (C.S. REX) Once King, now a ghost disguised as a clairvoyant. Resurrected by his mistress to right an insult, he is dismayed by but adapts to our noisy modern world in his vacation from the grave. NELL GWYNN (MISS ELEANOR) Royal lover, now a ghost on a mission. She haunts the locations of her life, and in death bitterness over a thing denied displaces the vibrancy of that life. She witnesses lies she feels compelled to undo, but needs her lover's help. |
